Focus on the Back, Spine & SI Joint
Along the spinal column are long powerful muscles called the paraspinal muscles. Tension within these muscles largely determines the status of the spine and, if there is an imbalance in these muscles, it can create a discomfort (misalignment) in the SI joint. In this workshop, we will strengthen and balance as well as open and stretch the paraspinals and other key back muscles. These methods will allow you to find an ease of motion and relief from constrictions and discomforts throughout the back muscles that span the length of the spine as well as better balance in the SI joint. You will learn poses and techniques and explore the use of props so that you can properly protect and care for your back and spine for long-term good health not only during your yoga practice, but also in your everyday life. Open to all level students and no yoga experience is necessary. In order for this to run, minimum registration must be achieved.
