Currently the large ice rink (for open skating) is open and the small rink (for hockey) is closed.
We utilize a flag system that indicates if the rinks are open or closed. The color of the flags located near the rinks indicate the status; the rink is closed when the RED flag is up due to the condition of the ice not being safe for skating. The rink is open if the GREEN flag is up, indicating the ice is frozen and okay to skate on. The hours are from sunrise to 10:00pm. The lights at Gilbert Park go on at 4:00pm and off at 10:00pm. There is a sign on the north side of the rinks that indicates which rink is designated for open skate or hockey. Stay warm and safe while you skate.
